What is Barbie?

Recently due to Barbenheimer, Barbie has gained quite traction. Movie watchers preferred Greta Gerwig's Barbie over Nolan's Oppenheimer. Why is that? Why do even men end up preferring watching a movie about a girl's play toy, over a movie about a man who is a real influencer in the field of science? He actually became a god, metaphorically, with the invention of atomic weaponry. On the surface, Barbie is a hero's journey about a woman called Barbie, who has an existential crisis. I don't wanna break down the script, but Barbie is not a movie about how the world sees women. It's a movie about how women see themselves. While most movies men enjoy are wish fulfilment of being the leading man, which they are not in real life. Barbie shed some light on similar topics for women, or it tried to. Greta's Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, tries to appeal to both male and female gaze. Barbie's innocence makes her a typical Venus, or 'born sexy yesterday' tr...

Fidem (faith)

I almost forgot how to write. Felt like I forgot to live for once. Words I left unspoken, unwritten, Some days those words just bring to life a new tale; One of misery, one of love, one of fear. Each letter as harsh as those scars. I fear opening up would drive life away I fear losing hope again I fear startling you I fear you'd be gone like a dear I fear you'll see who I'm not I can't bear it again. We have been broken once Betrayed, replaced, abandoned Treated like fools Used up like a toy they got bored with. No one understands this pain They just think they do Do they? Each day as we speak, I can't help but fall in love; Yet each day, I fear it's too soon. Each day you give me a reason to love you even more. Yet each day, I fear I'll be hopeless again. As you chuckle through my narration of this comedic ballad As you understood every emotion I try to convey I can help falling in love again. Some days I don't want our conversations to end Some...

Voyager - Part 1

The voyage began long before I woke up that morning. It began when I decided to live to the fullest (even for a day it may be). Let's just say I was high on some new attitude. I just paid for my trip and got new shoes. Then I learnt my friends are no-shows (wow life, like how you played me), I just went along, trying to find reasons to still go. Then I found one, then not. Eventually, I settled on taking chances. It probably began with me being excited about having one day without helicopter parents. Mom was quite supportive of my decision, she just took me shopping. The night before the trip, I got into a fight with my sister. She couldn't just let me take my iPad along on the trip with me, Mom had to step in and we got a smack each. She was shameless so she laughed. Late at night, I decided to make my sandwiches before bed. Miraculously, my sibling was quite helpful in the kitchen as I cooked. Maybe she just wanted to have some level of normalcy knowing I'd be gone for ...

Toast! To screw-ups in love!

From: The WeatherMan An ongoing project by Kaushik Tambe "Yet again I was the third wheel, not once, twice, maybe thrice. Maybe I'm the seventh wheel. I might sound desperate but I Envy them." Karan added as they gazed at the sky. "I do too", Katherine replied, "I mean despite them having all the rooms it's me who needs an escape. And this beach is quite peaceful." "Not to mention everyone's hostility towards me" he chuckled. "You're lucky you weren't me. Myra almost ate me. Long story." "I can agree." "The good thing is Kingston forgave me." "What did you do?" "I might have broken his heart when we were younger." Karan laughed, "So you were his Ria." He paused. "Ria?" Kath asked. "Oh, just an old friend." Karan brushed. "Your Ria, wasn't she?" "She never was mine." He replied, "I feel sober again. Fuck this love, man...

Entropy

Entropy sounds interesting. A word, everyone who has come across, believes to understand. For some it stands for energy, it's randomness. To a few, it's some fancy Sci-Fi term you can throw around to sound serious. To a few, it might be a pony's name. Just like the definition of life, entropy is not definitive. In all fairness, to me, it's a term humanity coined to explain why the universe does what it does. Ever since the BIG-BANG, time had only moved in one linear line. As time moves the ice melts, and soups chill, until the HEAT-DEATH. What if we reverse that? What if the physics were reversed? Would life still exist? Is Life just a consequence of increasing entropy? Why is it growing? I'm not a physicist, yet the question is quite interesting. Entropy is the growing randomness in the system, the dispersion of energy into the environment. It is what happens to us as we grow up, with entropy, our bodies change and eventually, they decay. In the celestial realm, st...
