"Yet again I was the third wheel, not once, twice, maybe thrice. Maybe I'm the seventh wheel. I might sound desperate but I Envy them." Karan added as they gazed at the sky.
"I do too", Katherine replied, "I mean despite them having all the rooms it's me who needs an escape. And this beach is quite peaceful."
"Not to mention everyone's hostility towards me" he chuckled.
"You're lucky you weren't me. Myra almost ate me. Long story."
"I can agree."
"The good thing is Kingston forgave me."
"What did you do?"
"I might have broken his heart when we were younger."
Karan laughed, "So you were his Ria." He paused.

"Ria?" Kath asked.
"Oh, just an old friend." Karan brushed.
"Your Ria, wasn't she?"

"She never was mine." He replied, "I feel sober again. Fuck this love, man"

"I envy them being able to love, you know," Katherine added.
"I tried to move on, but every time, I just screwed up."

"Same. My high school sweetheart cheated on me. The guy that liked me, I ditched him. Moved to London, met my fiance, freaked out and screwed over. Back here, I was too late."
"Not as bad as getting dumped in a business meeting."
"I was the maid of honour."
"That sucks"
"Toast! To us." Katherine raised her wine bottle.
"To screw-ups in love." He added raising his beer.
"To screw-ups in love."

"Quick question, no random drunk hookups, right?" Katherine asked.
"Nah." Karan laughed, "Don't wanna mess up with the only friends I made out here."

"It was funny." Karan added, "I didn't know he was this childish."
"Oh, he did grow up recently."
"Shawn was the funniest. 'Where's my Jet?' So funny" Karan laughed.

Katherine stopped.
"What?" Karan asked.
"You and Maya?"
"Same as you and your fiance."

"Funny, how we rejected life when it's right in front of us. We feel so right about that stupid decision, yet we regret it afterwards."
"Let's just say mankind is just too good at hurting itself, one way or another."
"Damn, you are quite the Philosopher."
"Well, I'm drunk and your friend is quite an influence."
"We don't call him the Siren for no reason."

 I wish to write a thousand words but, no one is here to listen. Time is making me go insane again. I wish to hold on to the daylight but it's running faint in these darkest hours. I've been praying for the courage to say it out loud. This fear is killing me again. As chaos follows me. I feel just as empty inside without you. With you, each moment, however short, is worth it. I'll choose you all the time. I wish for you at every moment in life.

The Cycle

 Life is crazy, one moment in life breaks you, the other builds you; the cycle goes on. But some things are more interesting and weirder than this. Sometimes we can’t resist someone, we find love and care within ourselves for them. Things we hold on to as souvenirs of their memories. When forced to stay apart from them, it hurts to the point that we’d fight for them. Sometimes in life, these are the people we can't live without. We are addicted to them, even possessive. We crave even the shortest conversation with them. We get jealous of those who could speak a thousand words with them. "Why can't I be the same?" unconsciously their smile becomes yours. It's funny when we realize all of this was just a little too much, guilt soon follows, and we begin distancing ourselves from love, a madness.
